This is a basic discussion post pertaining to The Future Emergency Manager. The following basic instructions are below as well as an attached file with readings from textbook/module notes to help aid in the writing of this assignment.
Emergency management is advancing as a field of study and as a profession. This discussion will examine what it takes to become an emergency manager. You will consider the expected qualifications of an effective emergency manager. Consider what degree programs would work best, and overall, what defines the field as a profession.

Describe the characteristics of a successful local emergency manager.
What kinds of experience, training, and education should that person have to work in your community, or at a state or federal level?
