For this assignment, select one developing nation and write a report on its current level of development and the development policies it has followed.
The report must answer the following question:
1. What is the level of development of your selected country?
2. What are the most salient challenges to development for this country?
3. What policies seemed to work in the past?
4. Which policies seem to have been outright failures?
5. What is the impact and relevance of outside actors on development in this country?
6. What opportunities for development can you identify?
Each of these questions must be answered at length, providing evidence and analysis. Your country report must include a variety of development indicators such as income per capita, infant mortality rates and literacy rates. Indicators on infrastructure development (paved road, electricity generation, consumption and etc.) as well as economic indicators (share of GDP for agriculture, industry, service, or foreign debt and trade balance) will also prove helpful.
The website of United Nation agencies l, the World Bank and IMF, and even CIA, are good sources for this sort of information. For discussion of the development policies followed by these countries, it is required to consult books and academic articles. At least 2 academic sources are required for this assignment. The report must be no less than 5 pages single-spaced not including tables, graphs, or bibliography (provide these in an appendix at the end of your report). Your bibliography must conform to one of the standard citation styles (MLA,APA,etc.).
Selected country is Cambodia.
