America, the United States as we know it, is a creation of three ancient worlds. Much has been said and proclaimed about Christopher Columbus and other Europeans and how they discovered America and therefore get “sole” credit for the experience. Europeans were not the only ones who participated in this collision…Elaborate on this point. I want you to think!
What is meant by E pluribus Unum and how does it tell the story of a new world emerging from three old worlds? Why do Columbus and other Europeans overshadow the other two ancient worlds – the Americas and Africa – who were also part of the creation of this new nation? What about the First Founders? Where do they fit-in in the American history narrative?
