As an instructional specialist, part of effective professional development includes the use of outside professional organizations. Writing effective proposals will help with the planning and approval processes.
Using one identified personal need from your self-assessment in Topic 3, research an outside professional development opportunity that will serve as an introduction to your professional development presentation in Topic 6. For example, if you identified that collaboration is an area in need of personal improvement, some of your colleagues may also benefit from a professional development providing ways to improve collaboration as well.
Part 1:
Write a 500-750 word proposal using the Professional Development Proposal template.
Part 2:
In addition, write a 150-200 word reflection explaining how this outside organizations professional development will support ongoing learning opportunities and prepares for the professional development presentation in Topic 6.
While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion
