For this assignment, you will compare and contrast the U.S. system of broadcasting with that of any other country in the world. Pick any country you are interested in. If you have no experience with another countrys media system, use the Internet to fill that gap and cite your sources. Be sure to address all of the following questions in your submission.
What is the name of the other country?
Who owns the broadcast media in the United States and the other country?
Who controls the airwaves in the United States and the other country?
Who determines what is allowed or what kinds of programs are most prominent in each country?
How is the system paid for in the United States and the other country? Where does the money come from?
Based on this analysis, can you place the systems operations for each country within one of the concepts listed in the Baran book (Western, development, revolutionary, authoritarianism)?
