This week, we explore the trends and issues affecting the managers communication methods. In 2008, 24% of the American population had a social media profile. By 2017 the number rose to 78%, indicating dramatic growth in acceptance and use of social media (Statista, 2017).
This week, we will also discuss the appropriateness of social media in the workplace. In the context of our study of managerial communication, reflect on the following questions:
- How is social media ethical and unethical as a business tool?
- How is social media professionally used as a business tool?
- How does your classmates post align with your own experiences and behaviors?
- What changes and perceptions can you predict for social media 10 to 20 years from now?
