In many ways, the racial elements in Othello speak to issues in our contemporary world. Using close readings from material in the play, discuss how what is in the play relates to racial issues in our contemporary world. I expect you to be very specific in your real-world examples. That is, you will be doing close readings of actual things in the world as opposed to just speaking in general terms about current racial issues. For instance, don’t speak in general terms about inequality in incomes. Give me specific, documented facts. You will need to cite the sources for all facts given.
