Sentence Outline Format (I discuss this outline more thoroughly in this week’s video lecture)
LENGTH: ONE PAGE (NOTHING LONGER WILL BE ALLOWED)
Introduction (do not write the full intro here; this is an outline; you should include only the minimum needed)
introduce author and title of article (one sentence)
provide a summary of the article (one sentence)
state your thesis (last sentence of introduction)
Paragraph #1
topic sentence that develops thesis
example from Friedman (paraphrase, quote, summary–make sure you cite it); don’t rely too heavily on direct quotes; if you are using a summary or paraphrase, include only a key word or phrase here (one sentence)
analysis (one sentence: use phrases or key words–you only get one page for your outline)
Paragraph #2
