C. Explain the significance of Quesnays Tableau Economique in the development of political economy. Identify the main elements of the table and the theory of surplus contained therein
D. What is the significance of Adam Smith in the development of political economy? Identify important concepts and be sure to relate this to his understanding of the distinction between the early and rude state and capitalist production proper. Relate this to labor commanded and labor bestowed
E. Develop the different theories of socialist economic thought and that of Marx. Why did the Ricardian school disintegrate? Be sure to include theories of the Ricardians, the Ricardian socialists, and the anti-Ricardians.
F. What is Marxs theory of value and exploitation and why was it significant in the history of political economy? How does this relate to the buying and selling of labor-power? What is meant by the subsumption of labor to capital, and what is the difference between formal and the real subsumption of labor to capital and absolute versus relative surplus value?
