You are to listen to all five works of music.
Please compare the three Kyrie movements from the three Masses by Dufay: Lhomme arme, Josquin: Missa Panga Lingua and Palestrina: Missa Papai Marcelli. You are now focusing on identifying form, texture, themes, recitational, syllabic, neumatic, and melismatic singing, dynamics, consonance, dissonance, as well as other observations you may have. Hopefully, you can compose a well-informed assessment of what you are hearing.
Please compare the two secular songs by Josquin, Mille Regretz and Weelkes: As Vesta was from Latmos hill descending. Both of these works use text painting. Can you site where in the music text painting is used? Do you believe that such a technique enhances the works? Please explain.
