Explore and discuss the topic of natural law. In addressing this issue, explain the moral theories of Augustine and Aquinas. Next, with reference to Letter From a Birmingham Jail, explain the ways that Martin Luther King, Jr. uses this theory to argue in support of equal rights for African Americans. Write a five to six page essay answering one of the following questions (12 pt. font, double-spaced). Your completed essay is due by midnight on Thursday, May 27th. Your paper will be submitted through Turnitin, a plagiarism detection program. In order to receive full credit, please observe the following guidelines: Do your own work and put things in your own words. Limit your use of quotations from the text or other sources. If you do use any quotations, you must reference them appropriately. Any papers that contain evidence of plagiarism will receive no credit for the entire exam. Answer the question fully. Responses that answer only part of the question will not receive full credit. Be clear and stick to the point of the question. Avoid bad grammar, spelling mistakes and the misuse of technical terminology. The point of this exam is for you to demonstrate that you understand and have thought about the issues that we have read about and discussed. To this end, relate your answers to issues and concepts that we have explored during our discussion sessions. Do not write in vague generalities. Provide specific and concrete examples that show me that you know what you are writing about.
