Ms. Smith has a 4th grade student who is struggling with reading. She knows that he is struggling with decoding, but is not exactly sure about the exact areas that he is struggling.
Write a paragraph that discusses what Ms. Smith could do to identify his decoding areas of need and then discuss an instructional plan that Ms. Smith could use to support this student.
Your plan should talk about the type of instruction, reading programs, and instructional activities that would support the students decoding (word identification) needs.
***This should be about one paragraph – no more than two paragraphs.
