For this writing assignment, you will write a business letter in block format. You will not use MLA format for this letter! If you do not know how to write a business letter, do an internet search for “block business letter format.” Be sure to get the formatting exactly right Notice how the date, recipient address, and sender address is formatted. You will be writing what is called in the entertainment industry a “pitch.” A pitch is your attempt to convince a media outlet, such as a cable or broadcast network, to produce your show.
A television network is looking for ideas for a new television series for teenagers, Write a letter to the president of the network explaining your idea for a new reality television show that would positively affect teenagers. Include all the information that will help the president evaluate your idea, including the show’s title, what kind of show it is (e. g., reality, comedy, music, game, or sports), specific details or features of the show that would be appealing to teenage viewers, and an example of what viewers might see in a typical episode.
